How long have you been fostering?

I started fostering in 1986(27 years).

How many children in foster care have you had in your home?

More than 60.

How many of these children (if any) have you adopted?

What made you become a foster parent?

I always wanted to be a mother and raise children. Foster children need a caring person who will lead them toward educating themselves and providing a safe, loving caring home to live in.

What advice would you give to your fellow foster parents?

You don’t need to be the perfect parent, all you really need is the willingness to provide direction and caring.

What is the most important thing you would like the public to know about foster families?

You receive far more than you give. There is a good feeling to helping some child have a warm bed at night and a safe place to live.

How has embrella helped you as a foster parent?

The training I have received made it easier to direct these children to be the best they can be.

If you could leave a message in a bottle for children in foster care, what would it be?

I cared for you and you have given me so many memories both happy and sad that have changed me forever, and I hope I have changed you forever. I did my best to care for you. I wish you all a wonderful, successful and happy life. Make the right choices and you’ll find goodness will come. I wish you enough.
